Adirondack, NY Tree House

I have been dreaming about adventuring to a tree house ever since I started watching Tree House Masters on Animal Planet many moons ago. One fine day, I was researching upstate New York cabin rentals on Airbnb and stumbled upon the Adirondack Tree House Retreat. I’m absolutely in love with upstate New York, especially the Catskills mountains and always up to explore the surrounding area. Honestly, I never even realized tree house rentals existed so you can imagine my enthusiasm (eeeeekkkk!!!!!) as I discovered this one was located only about 3.5 hours north of NYC in the town of Saratoga Springs.

Andrew and I happened to both have an unexpected week off work (score!!!!), so we packed our bags, jumped in our car and began our journey to find this house in a tree!!!!!! The majority of the drive was easy sailing — we passed our familiar spots and continued north towards Saratoga Springs. We really didn’t know what to expect and were pleasantly surprised when we arrived to our destination. The owner, Tom, greeted us and guided us to the private parking area for the tree house guests. Tom lives on the property and the treehouse was located a good distance from his home. He was very welcoming — gave us the run-down and provided us with a “guide” which was super helpful because it was filled with tons of knowledge of the area – hiking trails, food spots and hidden treasures in the area. The book even had notes from previous guests, which was really fun to read about what lead them to this very spot! We were in awe at how beautifully built the tree house was — the craftsmanship was impeccable down to the little details. You could immediately feel that it was build with love and it was super special to be able to share in the memories created here. It had an outside porch with seating area which was the perfect spot to star gaze! It even had power, wifi and an outdoor kitchen.

We were over the moon to be able to spend the next few days exploring the property and town. We spent the afternoon wandering around the property picking up branches and such to build a fire pit. It so happened to be a freezing day and night, but we still managed to stay warm. After some exploring, we cozied on up inside the tree house and stared out into the sky (yes, there was a sky-light!!!). This weekend getaway was especially special for us, since we were celebrating our engagement. This tree house was the most special place for the most special moment in our lives thus far!

Thank you, Tom for creating such a magical place! Forever grateful for this getaway.
